About Mark Ghossein

I never thought about or even wanted to become a Realtor. Growing up I played every sport possible. I was most passionate about soccer and volleyball. My dream was to become a professional athlete. I always loved the idea of challenging myself, competing, and pushing myself to the limit. Growing up in an immigrant family, a quality education was always an expectation. So I shifted my focus to that. 5 years later, I got my international business degree at Carleton University. It was now time to go out and get a real job.

I worked a great part-time job that allowed me to earn enough money to put myself through university. By the time I graduated, I was lucky enough to barely have any student debt. After graduation, I landed a promotion at the company’s head office. At the start, it was awesome. Good pay, amazing benefits, weekends to myself, and paid vacation. But after a while, I started feeling like something was missing. The job turned into a routine, and I didn’t feel like I was moving forward or making a real difference. Plus, all my customer chats were over the phone, and I really missed talking to people face-to-face.

I found myself stuck in the grind of a 9-5. I felt down, unfulfilled, and as if I was just wasting my days in a job that didn’t make me happy. Deep down, I’ve always wanted to run my own show, and working for someone else just didn’t fit with where I saw my life going. I was looking for work that made a real difference to others. I also needed a job that gave me the same kind of challenge and buzz I got from playing sports.

One day, I told my mentor I was feeling stuck and unhappy at work, and he asked
me if I had ever thought about real estate. I had been in sales and customer service
for years, but the idea of being a realtor never came to my mind. I said, “I’ll think
about it.” A few weeks later, I was talking to my older cousin, who’s like a big
brother to me, about what I should do for work. He also said real estate. This
surprised me. What are the odds that two people I look up to, who don’t even
know each other, would suggest the same job for me? I’ve always believed in fate.
Yet, I didn’t know much about what a real estate agent does, except sell houses.

I needed a change, so I started to learn more about it and I got really excited. I
found out how important a good realtor is for families making big money
decisions. I also saw how hard the industry can be, with 87% of agents quitting in
five years. There was the challenge I wanted, something to make me excited to
work every day. I finally had a clear path for my future. A career that offered the
two things I needed to feel fulfilled: the chance to genuinely help people and a
demanding yet rewarding job that matched my competitive drive to achieve great
results for my clients.

I want you to know I’m really thankful to work with you and your family. I don’t
take it lightly. I’m here to help families like yours get amazing results. You can trust
me to work hard to go beyond what you expect and earn your trust for always.
When I help people find a home, I don’t just want to be their realtor once; I want to
be their go-to realtor forever. Our time together will be fun and exciting. And when
it’s a serious time and things get tough, you can bet I’ll be fighting to make sure
you win in any deal.
